Happy Tenth Anniversary, Honey!

Filed under: Personal Favorites, Just Life — blestwithsons @ 9:01 pm

Our anniversary is actually tomorrow… But I just wrote this and can’t wait to post it!!

My husband is…

Tall, Strong, and Good Looking! I love his blue eyes and his smile. I love the way he dresses. I love the way he walks, and his hugs make me dizzy!

A Super Hard Worker The only thing he complains about is when he doesn’t have enough work to do at work. He hates that! He also has the gift of service and helps out at church or anywhere else just as soon as he knows the need. (assuming he has time, of course)

A Loving and Fun Daddy One of the best sights in the world is my husband playing the Roar Game with our boys. He runs and frolics and pounces and laughs. How he does all of this with a bad back is beyond me. He also is very tender with our babies. He snuggles them and changes diapers and comforts boo-boos… For a trained killer he is one big teddy-bear!

A Great Marine He does his job with diligence and dedication. He cares about the troops under his command. He loves his country. He is firm, but never mean. He leads with wisdom and integrity. Next week he will receive a well-deserved promotion to Major and I am so proud of him!

Really Funny When we got married, I thought I was the funny one. (and I am somewhat amusing  ) But I have been totally amazed at the hysterical stuff that my husband comes up with - out of the blue. God gave me a man who is full of surprises - and I love it!

Easy-Going and Patient Well, he’d have to be to be married to a high-strung maniac like me! But I also really appreciate this about him because he will try anything I cook, watch just about any movie without whining that it’s a chick-flick (though he might fall asleep) and meet a lot of my queries with “Sure, we can do that”

Super Generous When I wanted to take music lessons - which required the money for the lessons and the money for baby-sitting, his answer was “Go ahead.” When I took up rubber-stamping in addition to scrap-booking - he might have raised an eyebrow, but he said “Okay.” Pretty much whatever I want, he lets me have. I’ve told him he needs to tell me “No” more often just so I can practice accepting it gracefully… But he doesn’t seem to be listening.

Surprisingly Romantic I never thought he was. But he shocks me sometimes! Last Christmas I got ruby and diamond earrings with a note attached that said “An excellent wife who can find, her worth is more than rubies”. I about fainted. When he came home from deployment he brought me a lovely Persian rug with pink flowers on it. The reason? The flowers reminded him of my wedding bouquet! I don’t know who this mushy guy is…but I like him!

Extremely Handy He can fix cars, and furniture, and picture frames, and toys, and build stuff. He puts on his tool belt and turns into Bob the Builder!

A Good Teacher Sometimes he jumps in with the homeschooling… He’s really good at it!

A Man of God He is faithful in shepherding his family to church. He prays with his boys and reads to them from God’s Word. He models a life of quiet steadfastness in the Faith.

My husband is just an all around Great Guy. I am blessed and privileged to be his wife. When he’s not around, my world gets all wobbly. It’s like I told him during this last deployment… It’s not that I can’t handle life without him. It’s that I don’t want to. He’s my best friend and I just love being with him.
