A few days back I wrote a posting that was sort of a scrapbooking scripture lesson. I must confess that what ended up as a blog posting was actually written to serve as a devotional at a church scrapbooking event. Or perhaps I should say non-event, since other than my friend Lady K and myself, only one person showed up! Having such a low turn-out was a good thing for me, though, because it meant that instead of teaching…I got to scrap!! (Funny, but with the boys and the blog and all that…I don’t get to craft much these days.) Here are a few of my pages - both are 12×12 spreads…

yes, I took all those animal shots. And yes I also took pictures of my kids, they’re on another page

I particularly like the enlargement on this page. I did it in Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 with the photocopy filter.
The evening was so much fun. Four hours of scrapbooking with two friends and some good food. (not to mention Josh Groban playing in the background) Maybe it was the romantic music, but I have to confess, I’ve fallen in love. Here’s my new sweetheart…

Making Memories makes the coolest stuff! What you see here is a magnetic stamp set. The base kit comes with several metal bases and a screw-on handle. Then there are the little magnetic stamp dies. I have two sets so far - an alphabet in a very cool font, and a collection of phrases. You just pick a base, put on the handle, arrange the stamps on the base and stamp yourself silly! Or at least that’s how I do it. You can see some examples of it on both of my pages - the words “Columbia Zoo” on the top page, and “The beat goes on” across the bottom of the other. I think this set is going to be my new favorite crafting tool for its extreme versatility. Plus I’m a sucker for anything packaged in a nifty metal box. (pass the Altoids gum!)
