I think that these past few days have been the longest unannounced break I have ever taken! Thanks to one generous commenter for thinking I was offline due to virtuous family management. She was, however, only partially correct. Although I have been doing a little better at homeschooling and such, I also was just flat-out dried up for blog fodder - for this site, anyway. Plus I was very busy getting my new site hopping at our new location. (with the always magnificent help of my brother, of course)
Here are some random bits for now… More coherent posts to follow next week.
1. I just got my first pair of glasses on Sunday. This has actually affected my blogging because I have to wear them for computer work (and reading and crafting which encompasses most of my life) and getting used to them is messing with my head. They are very cute, though, which is really all that matters!
2. My third son (4 1/2 year old Benjamin) started violin lessons last week. He was on piano, but his heart belongs to the violin so we moved him. While at his first lesson, it really came home to me that the child talks just like Rainman. (m-yeah) No - he hasn’t seen the movie.
3. When I told my husband that his child talked like Rainman and didn’t he agree? He said “I dunno. What does Rainman sound like?” I now have to rent Rainman. (Before we got married, I had to make him watch the original Star Wars trilogy. I think he grew up under a rock)
4. I like Sonlight Curriculum. When I remember to sit down and do it, it goes really well.
5. If you’re struggling with insomnia, try sleeping in a different place to convince yourself that you’re not actually trying to go to sleep. The couch and I are getting very well acquainted.
6. I really am going to write real posts again soon - although this is fun.
7. I’ve lost fourteen pounds since starting my program (and new blog) on July 25th. Yippee!!
8. Having an addictive/obsessive personality is handy when you get addicted to working out and eating right.
9. I’ve never owned a hamster and I’m not too good at ping pong and I’ve never thrown my mashed potaters up against the wall. I’ve also never been to Boston in the Fall, but…
10. Next month I’m going to Colorado Springs - I’ve never been there either. Any bloggers in the vicinity?
