It is a dubious honor to have made up something that can be/oughta be/hopefully will sweep the blogosphere like a virus - taking over posts from here to interneternity… But that’s just what Spunky has done! Over at Spunky Homeschool you can read a ten item description which Spunky’s nine year old daughter wrote about Spunky herself, inspired by the book Because of Winn Dixie. It was with great fear and trepidation that I asked my oldest to give me a list of ten things about his mother. I even tried to be fair…in giving him suggestions I said “You can tell things you like, things I do, things you don’t like…” However, I had a feeling that he would probably stick to the good stuff, and he almost did.
Here’s his list:
1. My mom likes to scrapbook.
2. And she likes to go on the computer.
3. I like my mommy cause she reads to me every night.
4. I like mommy cause she takes us outside.
5. My mom likes to read.
6. My mom likes to write.
7. She likes to drink coffee.
8. She likes to talk on the phone really long. (ouch!)
9. She’s excited about moving to Texas.
10. She likes reading her Bible.
Not too bad, I suppose. Though being defined a lot by my hobbies might carry a little conviction. I do think his list was somewhat influenced by where we were when I asked him. (in the dining room, surrounded by books and craft projects, and me sitting in front of the computer with a cup of coffee!)
To be honest, I think there are a few more which he would probably add if he weren’t in the mood to be kind to me. Things like, My mom is loud. My mom sings too much - and she’s loud. And one thing which he has said to me on several occasions… “Mom, you are so weird.”
Alright… You’re next! Step out on a limb and ask your kids to give you ten things! Go on - do it!

Alright, I’m game…Er…that is if I can borrow your blog for mine!! Hehe.
This list is from my 7 year old Shiloh.
10 things about my mom:
1. She likes to sleep. (oi!)
2. She likes to watch the Spurs play ball.
3. She is going to move to a new house soon. (just a note-my kids are coming too!)
4. She talks to me.
5. She reads The Chronilces of Narnia to me.
6. She doesn’t like lizards like I do.
7. She’s pretty. (Trying to score points here…)
8. She has blue eyes. (Yes BWS, I DO have eyes!)
9. She took me to DisneyWorld. (This was three years ago but obviously significant.)
10. She wears make-up sometimes.
I think the sleep comment was because all the kids beat me up this morning…but I was up past 2 a.m. this morning, so…and they didn’t beat me up by much….I don’t like my house completely destroyed beyond repair!
Oh well. So much for deep, profound answers. This is what Shiloh thinks of me!

Yeah well, Bethany, if you went to bed instead of staying up playing on the internet…! (do the words pot calling the kettle black mean anything to anyone?)

I hope you know how much I love you to use the computer this much. I asked my boys what they would say about me. Here goes
Mom takes us to swimming lessons
Mom takes me to the dentist
Mom helps with Tiger Scouts
Mom helps me read
Mom likes roosters
Mom likes to bake
Mom likes us
Mom built a picnic table
Mom helps me write
Mom likes to help us
There it is- at least they didn’t say I like to clean. Matthew did say that I like our dog( I didn’t have the heart to correct him )
