Blogs that make me go Hmmm

Well. Actually bloggers that make me go hmmm. Missy, the transplanted Texan, very sweetly gave me an award last week.

Apparently, I’m a “Thinking Blogger”. Well, I used to be anyway. Now I’m just a Shrinking Blogger which is why she awarded me. Here’s what she said:

Blest of One Weigh or Another, for making me think about how I care for myself and inspiring a growing group of women to encourage one another in the same way.

And yes, technically she awarded it to my other site. But this blog is hard up for posts and that one is not…so I’m exercising my bloggerly privileges and taking it up over here. Because, you see, this award comes with responsibility! Any recipient of this award must pass it on to five bloggers that make him/her think! Share the love, so to speak!

My first award goes to the ever insightful, frequently delightful DeputyHeadmistress of the Common Room. I can think of no better blog to visit for wisdom, laughter, and homeschooling goodies. And her co-bloggers are awesome too! Besides, I love her dearly and hope to meet her someday this side of heaven!

My second award goes to Bird of Thinklings, AS Kids Are Cool, and One Weigh or Another. He’s fun. He’s smart. He and his lovely wife co-blog with me at not one - but two blogs… But most of all, I seriously admire his moxie in being the first male teammate on the weight loss blog! He rocks!

My third award goes to Nan of Life is Like A Lunchbox. Her blog is a recent addition to my daily reads and I’m enjoying it! She writes about all sorts of stuff, and I like her sense of humor! Plus I admire her efforts in setting up a new group blog for homeschooling moms. (I’m a shmoe who forgot to respond to her email… but man, I just can’t blog anywhere else right now!!)

My fourth award goes to Rebecca at The Space Between My Peers. She has made me incredibly shallow and vain and I appreciate it! Kidding, kidding. Actually, she has just done a lot to get me thinking about how I dress. I’m no slave to fashion, but I do like to look good. I will never follow trends, but it is handy figuring out that I’m too short to look right in capris. Now I just need to know what sort of belt I’m supposed to wear (if any) now that I have a cute little waist! Oh Rebecca..?

My fifth and final award goes to Kalyn at Kalyn’s Kitchen. She doesn’t make me go Hmmmm, she makes me go MMMMMMmmm! This food blog is THE food blog. I check it EVERY day. I drool over it almost every day. I have already made several recipes from Kalyn and have been in delectable delight over the results! Behold. Kalyn Rocketh.

  1. Awww!! Thank you so much! :^D I’m tickled pink! (And I never say “tickled pink”. To say “tickled pink” goes against everything I am… but I can’t help but say it!) Thank you! :^D

  2. Well, I’m honored! Thanks for the award, Blest. I think that it’s the first time I’ve ever received anything like that! You’re pretty rockin’ yourself, thanks for expanding me and Brandi’s blog world.

Funny story, after we got back on the Net a couple of months ago Brandi said to me, “I want to become friends with Blest with Sons.” It was sort of random, she had just read about you through Thinklings. A few weeks later and here we are — blog buddies!

    :-)

  3. I canNOT wait until Big Bend! We need to get serious about planning that. It would be cool if we could make that trip before the weather gets too hot. Andrew gets spasticated by extreme temperatures.

And I adore your wife, by the way. I am SO looking forward to making this friendship a real-life one!

  5. That’s what I was thinking. April’s pretty nutty here too. I’ll talk to MrMan and see what his schedule is…

  6. He hee hee!

So there, all you people who think I’m boring! Blestwithsons said I made her think. :)

I’m still thinking about the belt thing. But if you could find a shiny patent one that looked good on you …

  7. Wow, thanks for the kudos. You are too kind. (I will have to tell my fourth grade students that I rock!)

  8. Congratulations Blest! I’m afraid all deeper thinking is on hold this week for me. I’ve got a house that’s just chock full of flu victims. :/
