I just read this in an entertainment column on FOXNews…
Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip must have been a little disappointed last night. The White House dinner thrown in their honor didn’t include any Hollywood stars.
And no, the author wasn’t being sarcastic. He really thought it was a shocking oversight/faux pas that none of Hollywood’s elite were at the dinner. (cue my hysterical giggles)
I guess it’s just unthinkable to him that a)some of us don’t really consider Hollywood’s “Stars” to be our equivalent to a remarkable lady who has led her country for over fifty years and b)that maybe, just maybe one can get along without them.
However, I have reason to suspect that someone much more important than a Hollywood hottie was there at that dinner. My young hairdresser Michell, who is a genius, was flown to DC on Saturday to do someone’s hair for a big dinner…and she was going to get to attend the dinner too! Perhaps there were other big events in DC over the past few days…but I’m thinking that maybe this was it! I can’t wait til she gets back and tells me all about it…while she cuts my hair. She had to cancel my appointment for the trip (oh what nerve
) and I’m starting to look like the missing member of the Beatles.

Waah! No Brad Pitt? No Tom Cruise? What on earth was Bush thinking??!! Just Peyton Manning and Placido Domingo! To shame!

Er? For shame? Sorry for the typo!

I am glad the PTBs at the White House let Hollywood stay home. Most Hollywood elite tend to open mouth and spew forth their political opinions at the drop of a hat without regard to their surroundings. It just makes all of us look uneducated - after all, we idolize them!

Well, it makes you wonder, doesn’t it? I mean the queen does like to knight rock stars who have led decadent lives. Maybe she has always secretly wanted to chunk the crown and grab a guitar? Or act in a movie?
Y’gotta wonder.
